Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. October 27, 2018. The authorities of the city of Ulaanbaatar celebrated the 379th anniversary of the city's foundation today. Among the activities carried out by the City Hall, the diplomatic corps accredited in Mongolia, could share the celebration with the Mayor of Ulan Bator Mr. S. Batbold and the President of the City Council Mr. S. Amarsaikhan.

The Mongolian company Silk Road celebrated its 15th anniversary this Friday in an event where the Cuban cuisine and cocktails were represented with one of its most emblematic restaurant in this city, the Mexikan-Guantanamera, which delighted those present with rich dishes of Cuban and Mexican cuisine. Other culinary institutions of the company to which the Cuban restaurant belongs participated in the event, which was very popular among the participants.
The Cuban ambassador in Baku, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo and the graduate María de Jesús Ávila Lozano, graduated in economics planning at the National University of Azerbaijan, in Soviet times, participated in the first meeting of foreign graduates of the universities of Azerbaijan and at the round table: "Invest in the future: towards sustainable and inclusive development" that took place in the Diplomatic Academy of this Caucasian nation.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Azerbaijan ,Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, participated in the forum: "Disinformation policy: a threat to stability in the modern world", organized by the Press Agency AZERTAC, within the framework of the VI International Humanitarian Forum that takes place in Baku
The Cuban diplomat shared the day with leaders and representatives of local and foreign media, international and regional media organizations, and renowned experts.
Ulan Bator, October 25, 2018. On the morning of this Thursday the Embassy of Cuba received a group of 5th grade students from the International School "The English School of Mongolia". The students were able to learn with a brief presentation on #Cuba, its history, culture, symbols, geography and nature.
Namibia, October 20th, 2018- Around 200 guests, including Cuban collaborators, Cuban residents, members of the diplomatic corps, brothers and sisters of the Namibia-Cuba Friendship Association and other members of the Namibian civil society participated in the celebrations for the Day of the Cuban Culture, in the 150th anniversary of the composition and intonation for the first time of the National Anthem. Among the attendees stood out the Chief of the Namibian Police, Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga, who is graduated in Cuba and a pillar of solidarity with the island in this African country.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, participated in the VI International Humanitarian Forum of Baku that started at the Heydar Aliyev Center, in the capital of this Caucasian nation.
During a meeting with the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Abulfas Garayev, the Cuban diplomat thanked Cuba for its invitation to attend the event and considered it very important to hold the forum.
The United States permanent mission at the UN began circulating eight amendments to the Cuban resolution calling for an end to the blockade, reported Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parilla during a press conference at the ministry in Havana.
He reported that the amendments basically address aspects related to the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and the human rights issue, a subject that the U.S. government attempts to use to discredit Cuba – unsuccessfully.
What is most interesting, Rodríguez said, is not the content of the proposed amendments, but rather the fact that the document was circulated surreptitiously by the U.S. State Department, signed by deputy assistant secretary Gonzalo Gallegos, in an effort to dissuade UN member countries from voting in favor of the Cuban resolution calling for an end to the blockade, which will be considered in the General Assembly this coming October 31.
The Cuban Ambassador in Baku, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, was present at the second international conference on "Digital Trade Center of Azerbaijan", organized by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications (CAERC) under the presidency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Executive Committee of the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO).
