The Cuba-Denmark Friendship Association has issued a press statement in which it demands that the United States close the base located in Guantanamo Bay and return the illegally occupied territory to Cuba. The declaration indicates that since 1959, the Cuban government and the Cuban people have requested the United States to close the base and return it.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today delivered the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the United States in Havana, Lawrence Gumbiner, a diplomatic note that expresses its strong protest against the claim of the US government to flagrantly violate Cuban sovereignty, with respect to the national competence to regulate the flow of information and the use of the mass media, while rejecting the attempt to manipulate the Internet to carry out illegal programs for political and subversion purposes, as part of their actions aimed at altering or changing the constitutional order of the Republic of Cuba.
