Zagreb, 7 December 2017 – H.E. Mr. Vice Skračić, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and H.E. Mr. Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios, Ambassador of Cuba in that country signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries for the Establishment of Political Consultations at a ceremony held in Zagreb on 7 December.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba expresses its deepest concern at and utter rejection of the US president's unilateral declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, which constitutes a serious, flagrant breach of the UN Charter, of international law and of the relevant UN resolutions.
The Embassy of Cuba in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Consulate of Cuba in Rotterdam inform that they willl remain closed on December 25 and January 1 and 2 for the holidays and the celebration of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution respectively.
The Embassy and the Consulate will resume their activities on December 26, which will be the last day the Consulate will provide services in 2017.
Both the Embassy and the Consulate will resume their activities on Wednesday January 3, 2018.

On November 28, 2017, within the framework of the 28th session of the Energy Charter Conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Raşit Meredow met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku) Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.

Akja Nurberdiyeva, President of the Parliament of the Republic of Turkmenistan, received in a solemn audience, as established by the protocol of that Central Asian nation, the credentials of the new ambassador of Cuba in that country, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.
In her words of welcome, Nurberdiyeva explained the social achievements of her nation, wished the Cuban ambassador success in fulfilling her new duties and delivered a special message from the President of the Republic, Gurbanguly Berdimujamédov.
Members of the Association of Friendship Cuba-Denmark and members of the solidarity group Patria Grande, with the support of Christiania’s commune in Copenhagen, paid tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution on the occasion of the first anniversary of his death by planting a tree, next to which they placed a stone dedicated to Fidel. The Embassy of Cuba in Denmark attended to the ceremony, as well as the Ambassadors of Venezuela, Bolivia, Algeria and Iran, among other diplomats.
A year after his journey to immortality, the Embassy of Cuba in Austria, “ÖKG”, the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association and “CubaVa”, the Association of Cuban Residents convened in Vienna a heartfelt homage and remembrance to the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. Friends of Cuba, the accredited Diplomatic Corps, Austrian authorities and Cuban residents were present.
The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, was honored at the State University of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan, Azerbaijan, on the first anniversary of his physical disappearance, diplomatic sources reported.
The faculties of International Relations and Foreign Languages of the aforementioned house of high studies participated in a conference given by the ambassador of Cuba in this Caucasian nation, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, about the historical leader of the Cuban revolutionary process.
