New Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia receives Cuban Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar, October 25, 2017. The Hon. Mr. Tsogtbaatar new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia held a meeting this morning with Cuban Ambassador Raúl Delgado Concepción. At the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador congratulated the Minister on his appointment as head of the Mongolian Foreign Ministry and expressed his satisfaction at the good state of the political relations between the two countries that have had diplomatic relations for 57 years.

Ulaanbaatar. October 20, 2017. The Hon. Mr. Khaltmaagiin Battulga, newly elected President of Mongolia, received today the Ambassador of Cuba, Excmo. Sr. Raúl Delgado Concepción, who handed him a congratulatory letter from the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Hon. Mr. Raul Castro Ruz, for his victory in the presidential elections that took place last July in Mongolia.

Strengthening of sports cooperation ties between Cuba and Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar. October 18, 2017. Mr. Ts. Sharavjamts, President of the Physical Culture and Sport Authority, Implementary Agency of the Government of Mongolia held a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Raúl Delgado Concepción this morning, where aspects related to cooperation in sports between the two countries were discussed. With the signing of a Bilateral Cooperation Agreement between INDER and this implementing agency in 2001, the first sports collaboration actions were started for the recruitment of Cuban boxing coaches who worked in Mongolia in different periods of time.

Deputy Minister of Tourism ratifies Cuba will be fully recovered for high season

During a working visit to Spain, the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cuba (MINTUR) Mr. Luis Miguel Díaz, met with the local press in the Madrid offices of Grupo Excelencias.

In this meeting, the deputy minister thanked the press for its quick response in such a short notice and for the opportunity to meet with the main tour operators, airlines and specialized press to give them an update of the situation of Cuban tourism, its state and recovery after the passing of Hurricane Irma.

Cuba Operators Concerned about Exaggerated Hurricane Media Coverage

Operators of tours to Cuba are concerned that the picture presented in the major media of the hurricane damage to the island will discourage travel to Cuba.

“Unfortunately, there has been quite a bit of misreporting on conditions in Cuba,” said Bob Drumm, president of Alexander + Roberts. “The all-inclusive resorts on the Cuban keys are not relevant to American travelers, for example.”

The State Department announced Friday that it will withdraw more than half of the staff from the US embassy in Cuba after the "incidents" reported by diplomats.Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, director general for the United States of Minrex, emphasized to the press that the Government of Cuba has no responsibility in the alleged facts and it fulfills seriously and rigorously its obligations with the Convention of Vienna on Diplomatic Relations. We consider that the decision announced by the State Department is hasty and will affect bilateral relations.
