A group of tourism companies in the United States defended this week that Americans can continue with their trips to the island, because they believe that Cuba is a safe destination and travel is not prohibited by the new policy of the White House.
Executives of companies from the travel agencies, hotels, tour operators, airlines and cruise lines sectors expressed their interest in continuing commercial relations with the Greater Antilles.
Havana, January 31, 2018. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today delivered the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the United States in Havana, Lawrence Gumbiner, a diplomatic note that expresses its strong protest against the claim of the US government to flagrantly violate Cuban sovereignty, with respect to the national competence to regulate the flow of information and the use of the mass media, while rejecting the attempt to manipulate the Internet to carry out illegal programs for political and subversion purposes, as part of their actions aimed at altering or changing the constitutional order of the Republic of Cuba. The same note was sent by the Embassy of Cuba in Washington to the Department of State.
On Sunday, January 28, 2018, after the tribute paid to the National Hero of the Republic of Cuba, José Martí, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa with a representation of the Association of South African Graduates in Cuba.
The meeting was conducive to an analysis of the work of the Association and to organize the plan of activities for 2018, that will be carried out together with the Embassy of Cuba in the country.
The Ambassador of Cuba to the Republic of Slovenia, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios had meetings with the highest authorities of this country: President, Borut Pahor; Prime Minister, Miro Cerar; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karl Erjavec and other representatives of the State and Government in the margins of the New Year´s reception held in the Congress Center of Ljubljana, the capital of the European country. It was a suitable opportunity to reaffirm the good state of the bilateral relations and the willingness to continue strengthening them.
At a meeting chaired by Army General Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, a working group was set up to prepare proposals to create an institution for the preservation of documentary heritage, the study and dissemination of thought and the work of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
To complete the hard work, described by Raúl as of the utmost importance and which will be attended by the country's top management, some thirty experts from different specialties and representatives of various agencies, entities and institutions were invited.

With the presence of young students from School No. 52 "José Martí" of Ulan Bator, the 165th Anniversary of the birth of our National Hero José Martí was commemorated this morning. The management of this Mongolian educational institution shared, along with the entire staff of teachers, this beautiful tribute which was attended by the Ambassador of Cuba, Raúl Delgado Concepción.
A Cuban delegation from the Group GEGAN of the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture visited Denmark from 21 to 25 January to explore opportunities of business and cooperation.
