Grenada and Cuba Strengthen Technical Cooperation in Heritage Conservation.

St. George's, September 10 – The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, the Honorable Adrian Thomas, received Cuban Ambassador Ivette Martínez in his office to discuss the results of the mission of Cuban heritage experts to Grenada. Between August 12 and 25, Mr. Jose Antonio González Rodríguez and architect Nilson Acosta Reyes, Cuban specialists from the Cuban National Heritage Council, visited Grenada in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministries of Culture of both countries.

Grenadian students receive nine scholarships awarded by Cuba.

St. George's, September 5, 2025. The ceremony to award the scholarships to nine Grenadian students took place at the Cuban Embassy in Grenada. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Elvis Morain, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education; Ms. Kizelle Gilbert, head of the Scholarship Department; Cuban Ambassador Ivette Martínez Leyva; Dr. Malachy Dottin, president of the Committee of Cuban Graduate Students; and other guests.

Grenada's Attorney General and Minister of Labor receives Cuban Ambassador.

St George's, June 11. At the office of Attorney General of Grenada and Minister for Legal Affairs, Labour and Consumer Affairs, Senator the Honourable Claudette, along with Permanent Secretary Rhonda Jones, received Cuban Ambassador Ivette Martínez Leyva.  In a friendly meeting, they discussed topics related to work permit procedures for Cuban residents on the island and legal issues arising from noncompliance with Grenada's immigration policy.

Cuba and Grenada Promote Commitments in the Education Sector

St. George's, March 25. The Minister of Education of Grenada, Honourable David Andrew, welcomed the Cuban Ambassador Ivette Martínez, along with the Permanent Secretaries of the Department Mr. Elvis Morain and Mrs. Lorraine St. Louis-Nedd.

In a pleasant exchange, the hosts reviewed the status of bilateral commitments made regarding collaboration with special education specialists for the detection of students with autism spectrum and the management of other pathologies and behaviours that delay learning.
