Cuba celebrates 53 years of ties with Caribbean Nations
With a commitment to continue strengthening and further leveraging cooperation throughout the region, based on shared history and Caribbean brotherhood, Cuba celebrates its 53rd anniversary of diplomatic relations with the Caribbean.
Meeting at the Conference of Heads of Government in Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago, in 1972, Prime Ministers Errol Barrow (Barbados), Michael Manley (Jamaica), Eric Williams (Trinidad and Tobago), and Forbes Burnham (Guyana) announced to the world their sovereign decision to establish relations with Cuba.

With the presence of the Governor-General of Grenada, Her Excellency Dame Cecile Le Granada, the Acting Prime Minister, the Honorable Phillip Telesford, the Chancellor, the Honorable Joseph Andall, and representatives of Grenadian society, the National Museum of Grenada hosted the commemorative event for the 9th anniversary of the death of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

From the Grenada Carenage, Cuban residents and collaborators on the island joined the global caravan against the Blockade that travels through world capitals every last Sunday of the month. Cuban Ambassador Ivette Martínez shared with the participants about the communications campaign discrediting Cuba, which creates false scenarios, generates confusion, and pressures the government to change its vote on the Cuban resolution against the Blockade.
From Grenada, Cuba raises its voice of support for Venezuela.
St. George's, October 1. The Cuban State Mission in Grenada reaffirmed its support for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela with the signing of the Declaration of the Cuban Revolutionary Government in the face of the dangerous US military threat.
In the presence of the Venezuelan Ambassador to the island, His Excellency Mr. Jorge Guerrero Veloz, the members of the Cuban State Mission held an event to reaffirm their support for Venezuela and denounce the escalating actions of the United States government to justify military aggression.
