STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY BY HIS EXCELLENCY CARL GREENDIGE, VICE PRESIDENT AND MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS WITH COUNTRIES AND PEOPLE AFFECTED BY HURRICANE IRMA AT THE MINISTERIAL MEETING OF THE NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT

Excellencies,

Guyana commends your initiative in organizing this High-Level Meeting on Hurricane Irma to hear, firsthand, the assessment of the situation in the affected countries and territories.

Today, there can be no doubt of the severity of the impact nor of the urgency of existing needs.

Graduation of Guyanese doctors in homage to Fidel.

Guyana, August 31st, 2017. The Graduation Ceremony of 38 doctors benefiting from the Scholarship Program offered by Cuba to Guyana was chaired by Chancellor and Second Vice President Carl Barrington Greenidge and dedicated to the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro.

 

Graduation in Guyana of 19 doctors trained in Cuba

Georgetown, 26-08-2018. On Saturday, August 25, 2018, the graduation of 19 doctors trained in Cuba took place at the Convention Center, Arthur Chung, of them 11 Guyanese, 4 from St. Kitts and Nevis, 3 from Saint Lucia and 1 from Malaysia.

The graduation was presided  by the Guyanese representative of the Department of Public Services, Vincent Alexander, who urged the graduates to cultivate the spirit of service, avoid individualism and provide excellent health services to communities in need.
