During a working visit to Spain, the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cuba (MINTUR) Mr. Luis Miguel Díaz, met with the local press in the Madrid offices of Grupo Excelencias.
In this meeting, the deputy minister thanked the press for its quick response in such a short notice and for the opportunity to meet with the main tour operators, airlines and specialized press to give them an update of the situation of Cuban tourism, its state and recovery after the passing of Hurricane Irma.
Operators of tours to Cuba are concerned that the picture presented in the major media of the hurricane damage to the island will discourage travel to Cuba.
“Unfortunately, there has been quite a bit of misreporting on conditions in Cuba,” said Bob Drumm, president of Alexander + Roberts. “The all-inclusive resorts on the Cuban keys are not relevant to American travelers, for example.”
The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the Kingdom of the Netherlands has the honor to inform on the state of the tourist poles of the country following the passing of Hurricane Irma.
