Jamaica salutes friendship with Cuba on anniversary of bilateral relations
Statement of Senator The Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs And Foreign Trade, on the commemoration of CARICOM-Cuba Day 2021 and the 49th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Jamaica and the Republic of Cuba:
Today, the Government and people of Jamaica are honoured to join the wider Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Government and people of the Republic of Cuba, in commemorating the Forty-Ninth (49th) Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between CARICOM and Cuba.

About thirty Jamaican friends and members of the Cuban State Mission gathered at the Embassy premises to enjoy watching the documentary ‘Fidel: The Untold Story’, by Estela Bravo, on the 20th anniversary of its premiere and the fifth of the passing of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.

This afternoon, the thought and work of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution came into the minds and hearts of all members of the Cuban Embassy’s staff in Jamaica. At five in the afternoon, they gathered in the lobby of the Diplomatic Mission to participate in a workshop on the life and work of Fidel Castro Ruz.
