Dean of African Methodist Episcopal University visits Cuban Embassy in Monrovia

Monrovia, January 15, 2021.- Responding to an invitation made by Cuban Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera last year, we received in our diplomatic headquarters the visit of the Dean of the African Methodist Episcopal University Professor Augustine Konneh.

In the meeting, which took place in a cordial and fraternal atmosphere, the interest in establishing links between the Liberian University and Cuban Universities as a way of strengthening the bilateral bonds between both countries was evidenced.

Liberia appreciates Cuba's solidarity in the training of human resources.

Monrovia, January 14, 2021- With a simple activity at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia, the code of ethics of the students who have benefited from medical scholarships granted by the Cuban government to Liberia for the academic year 2020-2021 was signed.

Mr. David Kontue, official of the Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, and relatives of the students were present and expressed their confidence in the Cuban educational system.

Cuban Head of Mission grants interview to one of the main Liberian newspapers.

Monrovia, January 5, 2020 - This morning, Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera gave an interview to correspondent Joaquin Sendolo of the "Daily Observer", one of the most widely read newspapers in Liberia and with the oldest circulation in the African country.

In it, the Cuban diplomat referred to the Cuba-Liberia scholarship program from which Liberian students have benefited to study medicine in the Greater Antilles.

Secretary General of the regional organization “Mano River Union” meets with the Cuban Head of Mission in Liberia.

Monrovia, January 2, 2021.- The Head of Mission of the Cuban Embassy in Liberia, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, held a working meeting with Ambassador Medina A. Wesseh Esq, Secretary General of the regional organization Mano River Union, who visited the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia.

During the fruitful meeting, the Cuban diplomat related Cuba's experience in the development of collaboration with African countries in different areas, which has extended to almost all the countries of the continent.

Liberia-Cuba Friendship Organization congratulates ICAP on its 60th Anniversary.

Monrovia, December 27, 2020 - The Organization of Friendship Liberia-Cuba, through a letter addressed to comrade Fernando González Llort, congratulated the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) for the 60th anniversary of its foundation.

In this letter, the solidarity group thanks for the solidarity received in Cuba and the support given to the students of Liberia.

They point out that ICAP will be able to count on their support and that they will assume with honor and enthusiasm the new solidarity tasks assigned to them in support of Cuba.

Cuban Head of Mission meets with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Liberia.

Monrovia, December 23, 2020 - Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera held an exchange with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Liberia, Mr. Kingsley Opoku Amaning.

The topic that dominated the exchange between both diplomats was the internal situation of the country after the celebration of the senatorial elections and the national referendum, which constituted an excellent opportunity to learn more about Liberia.
