Cuban Head of Mission holds exchange with former First Deputy Foreign Minister of Liberia and current Board Chair at CB Vocational & Technical.

Monrovia, January 10th, 2021.- Within the framework of a cordial meeting held between the former First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Board Member at Starz University, and Board Chair at CB Vocational & Technical, Mr. B Elias Shoniyin and the Cuban Head of Mission, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, the former thanked the Cuban diplomat for the possibility of this meeting.

In a colloquial and relaxed atmosphere, Mr. Shoniyin expressed his admiration for Cuba and the capacity to achieve such relevant results in the field of health and education and recognized the accumulated experience and proven capacity of the Cuban doctors. He also appreciated the fact that Cuba was among the first nations to respond to the WHO's call when the Ebola outbreak occurred in 2014 in Liberia. He also stressed that the Greater Antilles continues to be an example of solidarity and international commitment for Third World countries, a country from which Liberia has much to learn and with which it has much to share.

Referring to the Henry Reeve Brigade, he indicated that he supports the nomination of this Cuban medical contingent for the Nobel Peace Prize.
