Cuban Medical Brigade in Namibia celebrates its XXI Scientific Forum.
On January 16, the XXI Scientific Forum of the Cuban Medical Brigade was held in Windhoek, Namibia. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services of Namibia, Juliet Kavetuna, the Cuban Ambassador, Giraldo Mazola, other members of the Cuban diplomatic representation and a group of Cuban health professionals, representing their colleagues from different regions of this African country.
The papers presented covered case studies, analysis of particular experiences with some patients, practical solutions to specific problems and data collection and analysis. All the investigations had a high quality and were very interesting for the topics addressed, as well as for their recommendations and conclusions. At the end of the event a mention was given, a second, and a first place.
At the closing ceremony, the Deputy Minister of MOHSS expressed her gratitude for having been invited to the Forum and for the papers presented. She also urged Cuban doctors to continue being creative and innovative to continue helping the health system of her country.
On the other hand, the ambassador of Cuba, Giraldo Mazola, praised the rigor of the presented works and the English language skills of the doctors. He also stressed the importance of the work they do in each of the health centers where they work.
The Ambassador urged the participants to continue to represent the Cuban people and their Revolution with dignity and to dedicate to both of them the Scientific Forum.

The member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Rosario Pentón, who is in Namibia as invited gest for attending SWAPO Congress, presided the tribute for the first anniversary of the death of Commandantin Chief Fidel Castro in this African country. The event took place in the Primary School that bears the name of the Cuban leader and had the participation of the students of the campus, the professors, the collaborators, the Cuban residents, the Friendship Association and the members of the Embassy, as well as other members of Namibian civil society.
The Rector of the Ñico López School also exhorted the children to honor Fidel as better students and to strive daily to be able to serve as good men to their homeland. He also referred to the symbolism that involves a school with the name of the Commandant thousands of kilometers from Cuba.
The Director of the School, Professor Martha Shilyomunhu, commented on the beginning of the school and the process of the selection of the name. He mentioned that they had only started with 12 students and that today they exceed 1200. He thanked Cuba for all the support and Fidel for the inspiration.
During the event, donations were also given to the school, from Cubans in Namibia and from some companies in this country.
The tribute culminated with a floral offering in the mural of Fidel at the entrance of the School and with the planting of moringa plants.
Vice Prime Minister and Chancellor of Namibia condemns the latest US measures against Cuba.
The Vice Prime Minister of Namibia and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi- Ndaitwah, in her second meeting this year with the diplomatic corps, condemned the latest measures taken by the United States government against Cuba, which intensify the Economic, commercial and financial blockade.
Likewise, the senior Namibian leader reiterated her country's support for Venezuela and the causes of the Sahrawi and Palestinian peoples.
The meeting was also favourable for the Chancellor to offer her country's positions on other important issues on the international and regional agenda, such as climate change, the restructuring of the UN Security Council, regional integration, the Agenda 2063 and the political situation in Zimbabwe.
Updates were also provided on the situation in the country and on the next SWAPO congress.
Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Antonio Guerrero, meets with the Vice Prime Minister and Chancellor of Namibia.
The Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Antonio Guerrero, held a fraternal meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwa. Also present were Rubí Despaigne, president of UNECA, and Cuban ambassador Giraldo Mazola.
The meeting was propitious for Guerrero to reiterate to the Chancellor, on his behalf and on behalf of his four other colleagues, the gratitude for all that Namibia did for their release. Similarly, he recalled the visit of the Five in 2015 and the unrepeatable shows of affection received in this country.
During the exchange, the Cuban Hero presented the main issues addressed with his Namibian counterparts in the construction area.
For her part, Chancellor Netumbo thanked Tony for her words and reaffirmed the special affection that exists between the peoples of Namibia and Cuba, born of the blood shed together for the freedom of this African country.
Likewise, the Namibian leader also expressed her satisfaction with the current state of bilateral cooperation relations, although she urged to work more for its expansion and strengthening
Antonio Guerrero, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, arrives to Namibia in a work visit.
Antonio Guerrero Rodríguez, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and Vice-President of the Superior Organization for Entrepreneurial Management (OSDE) of Construction Design and Engineering, and Rubí Despaigne, President of the UNECA, Cuban Construction Services Company, arrived on Tuesday to Windhoek, capital of Namibia, on a working visit to check bilateral cooperation in that area.
As part of their work program, both representatives of Cuba will hold meetings with their Namibian counterparts in the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development and in the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation.
They will also attend the Fidel Castro Primary School in Katutura, an educational center that welcomes more than a thousand students, and will participate in a meeting with the Cuban residents and collaborators in this African country, as well as with the members of the Namibia- Cuba Friendship Association.
For his part, the Cuban hero will be received by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and by leaders of the SWAPO Party.
The visit from November 14 to 17 to the Namibian capital will contribute to the strengthening of relations between Havana and Windhoek.
