In the framework of the celebrations for Africa Day, Namibia and Cuba strengthen cooperation in health.
Namibia, May 22nd, 2020- A few days before the celebration of Africa Day, on May 25th, the governments of Namibia and Cuba signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation in the area of health. The Ambassador of Cuba to Namibia, Sidenio Acosta, signed the agreement on behalf of the head of the Island's Ministry of Public Health, José Ángel Portal. Meanwhile, on the Namibian side did it, the Minister of Health and Social Services, Hon. Mr. Kalumbi Shangula.

Namibia, May 21st, 2020- The newly appointed Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Hon. Jenelly Matundu, received the Ambassador of Cuba to Namibia, Sidenio Acosta. Both diplomats agreed on the excellent condition of the bilateral relations, which they classified as historical and brotherhood.

Namibia, May 19th, 2020- The second President of Namibia, H.E. Mr. Hifikepunye Pohamba, received in his offices a team from the Cuban Television Information System, led by the journalist and director Milton Díaz Canter.

Namibia, May 15th, 2020- The Cuban ambassador to Namibia, Sidenio Acosta, participated in a television and radio panel on International Solidarity to confront the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting was broadcasted live on the national television and radio station Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC). Mr. Zhang Yiming and Mr. William M. P. Whitehead, ambassadors of China and South Africa to Namibia respectively, also participated with the Cuban representative.
