Union leader, friend of Cuba, visits our embassy.

Wellington, December 31. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés and Consul Dalila Vázquez ended 2022 with a meeting at our Embassy with Robert Reid, president of First Union and an active member of the solidarity movement with Cuba for many years.

They exchanged about the situation in Cuba and ways in which our friends can support us in various spheres.

They addressed other issues of the international situation, and Cuban officials thanked Reid for his intense and long career in defending the Revolution.

 

Annual balance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Havana, December 23. On the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, the annual balance of work in 2022 was carried out.

Minister Bruno Rodríguez congratulated all the workers and stressed that in a challenging year for the revolutionary diplomat, dedication and tenacity characterized everyone.

Friendly meeting with the speaker of Parliament.

Wellington, December 13. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés attended the end-of-the-year reception offered by the speaker of Parliament, the Right Honorable Adrian Rurawhe.

In a friendly conversation, the New Zealand parliamentarian said he was informed about Cuba and was invited to visit us when conditions allow.

Friends of Cuba celebrate anniversary of the Revolution.

Wellington, December 9. Members of the solidarity groups in this city and other friends of Cuba attended the celebration at our Embassy of a new anniversary of the Revolution.

Ambassador Edgardo Valdés thanked those present for the support provided during a very difficult year for Cuba, and particularly highlighted the contribution of those who have offered us their solidarity for decades.

In an atmosphere of celebration, we ratify the commitment to continue working together for the right of Cubans to decide their own destiny.

Cuban diplomats exchange with the new Mayor of Wellington.

Wellington, December 3. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés and Consul Dalila Vázquez attended the New Year's Eve party organized by the city's new mayor, Tory Whanau, for the Diplomatic Corps.

The event included lunch, a tour of the local Zoo, and the opportunity to share with the Mayor and other members of the City Council, to strengthen ties for joint work next year.

It was a pleasant experience for all participants.
