Foreign Minister Winston Peters welcomes Cuban Ambassador to New Zealand.
Wellington, December 6th, 2019. Foreign Minister, Winston Peters received a courtesy call from the new Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, at his parliament office.
The Cuban diplomat took the opportunity to thank him for New Zealand's support in the United Nations General Assembly for the resolution “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba” while emphasizing in the impact of this policy on the daily life of Cubans and on Cuba's relations with all countries of the world.
New Ambassador of Cuba to New Zealand presents Credentials
Wellington, November 12th, 2019. The new Ambassador of Cuba to New Zealand, Edgardo Valdés López, presented credentials to H.E. the Right Honorable Dame Patsy Reddy, Governor-General, after a traditional Maori welcome ceremony.
The meeting was conducive to highlight the good state of bilateral relations and the coincidences between Cuba and New Zealand regarding the concern for the well-being of their peoples, peace, multilateralism, the environment and other values and principles that unite them.

Condemned in Auckland the United States blockade against Cuba
Auckland, October 7th, 2019. As part of the farewell presentation by Cuban Ambassador Mario Alzugaray Rodríguez, members of the Auckland Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the Island for almost 60 years.
