Parliamentary leader reaffirms New Zealand's interest in promoting greater ties with Cuba
Wellington, September 19th, 2019. The chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade of the New Zealand parliament, Simon O'Connor, received the Cuban Ambassador Mario Alzugaray at Parliament House and confirmed New Zealand's interest in deepening ties and areas of cooperation with Cuba.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged on various issues of international affairs, as well as the state of bilateral relations and the interest of both nations in promoting greater exchanges.

Group of Maori and Pacific doctors plan to visit Cuba

During a visit to the Cuban Embassy, Dr. Rawiri Mckree Jansen, clinical director of the National Hauora Coalition, an organization focused on the health and well-being of Maori communities in New Zealand, expressed the interest of making a visit to Cuba, which allows health specialists in the Maori and Pacific communities to learn about the successes of the Cuban system.
