Support and Solidarity with Cuba Ratified in Lebanon
The representative of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Lebanon, Ehsan Ataya, was received by the Cuban head of mission Jorge León Cruz and held a positive exchange in which they discussed issues of mutual interest. Mahfouz Mnawar, Head of International Relations of the Palestinian movement, also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the positive signs of solidarity and support for the struggle of the Cuban people against the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the US against Cuba for more than 60 years were noted and the Cuban support and solidarity for the Palestinian cause to achieve the establishment of an independent Palestinian State was confirmed.
The Cuban diplomat conveyed to the Palestinian leader his condolences for the murder of Palestinian-American television journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was shot while covering an Israeli army operation, and strongly condemned Israel's recent military aggression against the Gaza Strip, which caused dozens of civilian deaths and injuries.
