Once again, Namibia opens its heart to the Cuban people
Namibia's National Solidarity Campaign in support of Cuba has raised more than 700,000 Namibian dollars in donations from citizens, which will be used to purchase medical supplies and other essential materials for the Cuban population.
This campaign was launched in April by the Namibia-Cuba Friendship Association and the Sam Nujoma Foundation in response to the fierce campaign of strangulation imposed by the United States government against the island.
Namibia urges support for Cuba amid US sanctions
WINDHOEK — Namibian Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare has called on Namibians and corporate entities to support Cuba through a national solidarity campaign aimed at helping the Caribbean nation cope with humanitarian and economic challenges linked to long-standing U.S. sanctions.
Ngurare made the appeal during a courtesy visit by Cuban Ambassador to Namibia Sergio Vigoa de la Uz in Windhoek, said his office in a statement released on Sunday.
Namibia's President congratulates the Army General on his 95th birthday
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah conveyed her sincerest congratulations and best wishes to the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, on the occasion of his 95th birthday.
In her message, the President paid tribute to Raúl Castro's life and work, his contributions to the Cuban people, and his advancement of the ideals of freedom, justice, solidarity, and self-determination.
