Night of Solidarity and Fraternity Etio-Cuban

Addis Ababa, September 30, 2022. In an emotional atmosphere took place in this capital "The Night of Etio-Cuban Fraternity", organized by the Embassy of Cuba and the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry.  The activity was chaired by the Minister of Development of the Democratic System of Ethiopia, Dr. Alemu Sime and on the Cuban side the Ambassador of Cuba in this country, Jorge Lefebre Nicolás.

Foreign Ministry officials, Ethiopian diplomats who served in Cuba, as well as several students from different generations of Ethiopian graduates in Cuba also took part. In the interventions, solidarity with our country prevailed due to the scourge of Hurricane "Ian", the denunciation of the blockade and the permanent gratitude for the training that thousands of young Africans received in our country for several years. In the words of the Ethiopians, "the relationship between Cuba and Ethiopia is cemented with blood ties and that is why it is indestructible."

The Cuban ambassador thanked the solidarity and outlined the African participation in our struggle against Spanish colonialism and its contribution to the formation of Cuban nationality and culture.   He also said that for wanting to "forge a better nation, the Cuban Revolution receives a harsh punishment, expressed in more than 60 years of blockade and sanctions by the United States." He announced that in the coming days, Cuba will present again at the UN a draft resolution condemning the blockade and that "it will surely be approved with the support of friendly countries, including African ones."
