An act of solidarity with Cuba was held in Vijayawada, capital of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, organized by the organization "People's Literature" and the Communist Party of India. The meeting was attended by several of its leaders and about seventy people, who welcomed the Cuban Ambassador to India, Alejandro Simancas Marin.
The participants expressed the feeling of admiration and solidarity with Cuba, whose Revolution and leader Fidel Castro continues to be an example for them, as well as the achievements in health and a fairer social system. They also joined in the demand for an end to the unjust U.S. blockade.
The Cuban diplomat expressed his gratitude for the expressions of friendship and solidarity, and exchanged with the participants interested in learning about Cuban history and reality, as well as the opportunities for bilateral collaboration in the areas of health and education.
