The Sri Lankan Alumni Association in Cuba condemns the unjust and illegal economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba for more than six decades. These unilateral measures constitute a violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the sovereignty of nations.

Tribute to Che Guevara and solidarity with Cuba in Sri Lanka
Colombo, October 9, 2025. Organized by the Socialist Youth Union of Sri Lanka (SYU), a tribute to Commander Ernesto Che Guevara was held on the 58th anniversary of his assassination in Bolivia. Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, External Employment and Tourism, and Cuban Ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido were present.
Maldivian Foreign Minister Receives Cuban Ambassador
Colombo, October 7, 2025. Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdulla Khaleel received Cuban Ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, who made a working visit to the country from October 4 to 6.
The ambassador expressed his gratitude for the Maldives' continued support for Cuba's resolution before the United Nations General Assembly against the economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed by the United States against the Cuban people.
