Fidel,
Today we remember you again, not for the one you are not here, but for the one you always are. This is the 6th year in which the people of Cuba pay homage to you in your holy sepulchre, a place where you rest in peace after having fought immense battles in favor of those most in need and for the benefit of all humanity.
This is another year to honor your memory in which the people of Cuba and the supportive friends of the world fought tooth and nail and raised their voices again demanding the lifting of the unjust, inhuman and genocidal blockade that the United States maintains against our Island. Once again we won this battle at the United Nations with 185 votes in favor of the Resolution against the blockade presented by our foreign minister, 2 countries were against it and there were 2 abstentions. This was a magical moment, Fidel, in which all your supportive people and friends shouted out loud #MejorSinBloqueo and in which your dissimilar interventions in the heart of the empire came to our memory demanding justice, equality, protection, recognition and love for all oppressed peoples.
Your clean, fair and timely truth was also heard at the 27th United Nations Conference on Climate Change that took place in Egypt. Cuba reiterated the importance of the COP adopting decisions on the need for financing from developed countries to mitigate the losses and damages caused by climate change.
The protection of the environment and the human species has always been present in your daily actions, and you demonstrated this at the Rio de Janeiro Summit on the environment and development in 1992, when you expressed "... Excellencies, an important biological species is at risk of disappearing due to the rapid and progressive liquidation of their natural conditions of life: man..." and later you continued saying: "... Stop selfishness, stop hegemonism, stop insensitivity, irresponsibility and deceit Tomorrow will be too late to do what we should have done long ago..."
Today also continues the path that you prepared and settled, our President and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, is responding to the official invitations made by the friendly countries of Algeria, Russia, Turkey and China, He marches with legs of lead and carries in the heart the words of the teacher when he wrote "Homeland is humanity", together with our people, the path is being made as we walk in the search for accurate solutions for the improvement of our economy and for the benefit of all current Cuban society. Today you are accompanied by your ideas, your nobility and your unwavering commitment to the Homeland at any price. Fidel, serve this tribute to express all the gratitude of the Cuban people to your revolutionary work, which we will defend to the last drop of blood if necessary. Rest in peace, Commander in Chief.
