In Lebanon, the pan-Arab Al Mayadeen Channel will premiere a documentary series on Cuba

The information network Al Mayadeen will premiere on Sunday, January 15, 2023, the documentary series The Enigma of the Cuban Revolution, to give voice to the resistance of its people, said today the president of the pan-Arab channel, Ghassan Ben Jeddou.

In declarations to Prensa Latina, the director of the Lebanese-based media said that the audiovisual work of five chapters, of almost an hour each, transmits a message not only of Cuba's past, but also addresses its discourse to the present.

For the prominent journalist, Enigma tries to consolidate the dignity and achievements of the Cuban Revolution, in image and word, in the conscience of the Arab and Islamic peoples of the region and the world.

The television production does justice to the model of impetus and bravery, patience and firmness of the struggle of the Antillean people in the face of the siege, provocations and manipulation campaigns of U.S. imperialism, he said.

In Ben Jeddou's opinion, the series constitutes an authentic and true Cuban achievement; and in that sense, "the most important thing is the spirit that the viewer should perceive with an affectionate, sincere heartbeat, aligned to a real revolution and defender of the human being", he emphasized.

Under the watchful eye of Al Mayadeen Spanish director Wafica Ibrahim, the documentary production was hosted by journalist Arleen Rodríguez Derivet, scripted by Karen Brito, narrated by the late actor Manuel Porto and Patricio Wood, and produced for television by Mixael Porto.

The main theme of the soundtrack, Madre Patria, by singer-songwriter and violinist Tammy López, together with the animation, the rhythm in the editing and the testimony of intellectuals, combatants, heroes, researchers and citizens contribute to Enigma's main thread.

The work includes the assessments of historians such as Alejandro Hartman, Yoel Cordoví, Eduardo Torres Cuevas, Eusebio Leal, Rolando Rodríguez and Ana Cairo.

At the same time, it shares the experiences of journalists Marta Rojas and Katiuska Blanco; diplomat Raúl Roa Kourí; combatant Guillermo Jiménez (Jimenito), Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés, ethnologist Natalia Bolívar, scientist Agustín Lage and intellectual Ignacio Ramonet, among many others.

Told from the scenes of struggle and sacrifice, the documentary series will reach the Arab public in recognition of Cuba's example, solidarity, internationalism and commitment to just causes.
