Cuba was present at the International Convention on Small and Medium Enterprises, held in New Delhi, organized by the Indian Ministry for the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
The Cuban ambassador to India, Alejandro Simancas Marín, gave a presentation on the important role that the Cuban government is giving to these business structures as part of the improvement of its economic model. The diplomat also explained the potential for bilateral trade and the development of investment projects in Cuba and expanded on the facilities created for this purpose, particularly in the Mariel Special Economic Zone.
Equally relevant was the subsequent exchange with several Indian companies interested in relations with Cuba, which he invited to explore and evaluate the different business options and thus also contribute to the strengthening of the close links of friendship enjoyed by both countries for 63 years.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador was received by Omprakash Sakhlecha, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Science and Technology of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
