Addis Ababa, March 23, 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba in Ethiopia, Jorge Lefebre Nicolás, received Dr. Mesrak Mekonnen, Secretary General of the Ethiopian Parliament at the Embassy.
During the meeting, the ambassador highlighted the bonds of friendship that have always united Cuba and Ethiopia, twinned by the recognition that up to this day is received from the Ethiopian-Cubans, as those who graduated in Cuba are known. He also praised our country's desire to strengthen parliamentary ties between our countries, to conduct inter-parliamentary exchanges and visits.
Dr. Mesrak is a graduate in Veterinary Medicine in Cuba, from the educational program that was established in 1978, in which more than 5000 Ethiopian children traveled to study on the island and during her visit to the headquarters of our Embassy reiterated her gratitude and affection for Cuba.
