Hispanic embassies accredited in Addis Ababa begin preparatory meetings to celebrate Spanish Day

Addis Ababa, March 22, 2024. Hispanic embassies represented in Addis Ababa begin preparatory meetings for the celebration of Spanish Day that will take place next April at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Argentine embassy, organized by the nine Spanish-speaking countries that have missions in Addis Ababa, namely Argentina, Nicaragua, Equatorial Guinea, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.

As every year, Spanish-speaking embassies prepare this event with the aim of raising awareness about the history, culture and use of Spanish as an official language, especially in the African Union.
