On June 8 and 9, the XI Biennial Convention of the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC) was held in the city of Toronto. The event was attended by representatives of more than 20 organizations and other friends of Cuba, who have worked intensely to promote solidarity and love for our people for decades.
As part of the event, a balance of the actions developed by each organization during the last two years and proposals for actions to continue promoting and adding friends to support Cuba were made.
During the event, the U.S. blockade against Cuba, the inclusion of our country in the arbitrary list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism and the illegal occupation of territory in Guantanamo were strongly condemned.
Likewise, several resolutions were adopted demanding an end to the hostile policy of the US government against Cuba and calling for an end to Israel's genocide in Palestine.
The event was attended by the Cuban Ambassador to Canada, Rodrigo Malmierca, who thanked those present for their unconditional support for our Island.
The event was attended by Leima Martinez, Director of North America of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP); Aileen Carmenaty, Press and Cultural Attaché in charge of solidarity movements of the Cuban Embassy in Canada and Jorge Yanier Castellanos, Consul General in Toronto.
