The Central India Trade Union Union Union (CITU) yesterday carried out mobilizations in solidarity with Cuba and condemned the blockade against the Cuban people, in connection with the debate in the United Nations General Assembly on the draft resolution “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba” and its vote for the thirty-second time. The demonstrations of support, called by the Secretary General of CITU, Tapan Sen, took place in various districts of the states of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The Resolution approved by this trade union organization, which groups together more than 6 million workers from various sectors of the country, condemned the severe damage caused by the blockade to the Cuban economy and society, and the current validity of the reinforcement measures, as well as the permanence of Cuba on the spurious List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
