Cuban Ambassador participates in the Educational Brigade's Scientific Workshop in The Bahamas.

Nassau, April 8, 2025. Teachers from the Cuban Educational Brigade in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas held a Scientific-Methodological Workshop under the theme "No Lecturer Left Behind: A Professional Model for Advancing  the Practitioners  as a Researcher", in which eleven interesting papers related to the daily work and research of educators were presented.

The event was attended by representatives from The Bahamas' Ministry of Education and Technical and Vocational Training, who, along with the panel of judges, positively evaluated the papers presented and expressed the possibility of replicating some of the good practices and experiences gained.

The annual meeting of the Cuban Educational Brigade was also attended by Dr. Faith Butler, a professor in the Department of Education at the University of The Bahamas who teaches teachers in training. She expressed pride in the teachers who conduct excellent research and hopes to collaborate to disseminate the work of Cuban teachers at the University of The Bahamas and in other public forums.

The work of professors Esperanza Fleitas Acuña, Mayelín Gotay Rodríguez, Yudelsy Cobos Gamboa, Angel Daniel López Valdés, Dayelín Bueno Campos, Rosalí Ramírez González and Andy Daniel González López was highlighted, and recognition was given to the rest of the participants.

The head of the Educational Brigade, Angela San Martín Corrales, recognized the quality of the presented works, based on the teachers' pedagogical experience according to their educational level. It was agreed to compile the submitted works and send them to the Ministries of Education of Bahamas and Cuba, respectively.  These experiences could contribute to the teaching-learning process carried out by other specialists on the island and continue to deepen the training of future cooperators within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding for educational collaboration between the two countries.

Several Cuban residents who are teachers in schools in The Bahamas attended the event as guests. They expressed their gratitude for being present and reaffirmed their aspiration to continue participating in events like these, which undoubtedly contribute to their pedagogical and research training.

The Cuban Ambassador, Julio César González Marchante, recognized the organization and results of the event, which drew on some of the positive experiences from last year's edition, and urged continued research development. He also highly valued the contribution of Cuban educators in the Bahamas, who have helped to educational development in the country for more than two consecutive decades, and reaffirmed Cuba's willingness to continue, at the request of the Bahamian side, this support to the preparation of future generations.
