Cuba bids an affectionate farewell to the Ambassador of Uruguay to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, May 11, 2025.- In a gesture of affection and respect, the Ambassadors of Cuba to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the African Union, Meylin Suárez and Lucas Domingo Hernández, went to Bole International Airport on Sunday morning to bid farewell to the Ambassador of Uruguay, Néstor Alejandro Rosa Navarro,  who concludes his diplomatic mission after five years of intense and committed work on Ethiopian soil.

Ambassador Rosa Navarro, who also held the role of Dean of the Latin American Diplomatic Corps in Ethiopia, leaves a deep mark among his colleagues and in the diplomatic community of the African continent. His administration stood out for the promotion of the ties of friendship and cooperation between Latin America and Africa, as well as for his human warmth, professionalism and closeness to the representatives of sister nations.

"When a friend leaves, there is a void," Cuban Ambassador Meylin Suárez expressed with emotion through her account on the social network X (formerly Twitter), alluding to the close friendship they forged in a few months since their arrival in the country.

 

During the brief farewell ceremony, hugs, words of gratitude and wishes for success in the new responsibilities assumed by the Uruguayan ambassador prevailed.

The Cuban delegation highlighted the commitment to continue strengthening the ties of unity and regional cooperation in the spirit of solidarity that characterizes Latin America.
