Addis Ababa, May 19, 2025.- The Ambassadors of Cuba to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the African Union, Meylin Suárez and Lucas Domingo Hernández, participated in the public conference entitled "Utopias and Memories in the Great South", given by the prominent Argentine intellectual Ricardo Forster.
The event took place at the Ashenafi Kebede Performing Arts Center of the Yared School of Music at Addis Ababa University, on the occasion of the Day of the Organization of Southern Cooperation.
During the day, the importance of moving towards genuine integration between the countries of the Global South was underlined. As expressed by the Secretary-General of the Organization of Southern Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Manssour Bin Mussallam:
"South-South cooperation will not be sustainable without agreements between our countries of the Global South, without genuine integration. We must establish a framework of cooperation that allows us to build bridges to strengthen ties between the countries of the South, allow our peoples to get to know each other, exchange their cultural riches, face challenges together and project a common horizon."
Cuba ratifies its commitment to South-South cooperation, based on the principles of solidarity, mutual respect and shared benefit, as a key tool for the development and strengthening of the sovereignty of our peoples.
