Addis Ababa, June 25, 2025.- The Consular Affairs Officer of the Embassy of Cuba in Ethiopia, Natalys Dinza Utria, held a cordial and productive meeting with the Education Affairs Officer of the Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Ethiopia, Mr. Kun Pouk Riek.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the upcoming enrollment of South Sudanese students in higher education institutions in Cuba. They reviewed the positive outcomes of the ongoing academic exchange and assessed the current situation of South Sudanese students studying on the Caribbean island, addressing issues related to their academic performance, living conditions, and cultural adaptation.
Likewise, both parties reaffirmed their mutual willingness to continue strengthening ties in the field of education, within the framework of the historic relationship of solidarity and collaboration between Cuba and South Sudan. Both diplomats emphasized the importance of expanding training opportunities in key sectors for the benefit of South Sudan’s human development.
The Consular Officer reiterated Cuba’s commitment to continue providing comprehensive, high-quality education to South Sudanese youth, as well as to ensure the necessary consular support during their stay in the country.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of respect and fraternity, reflecting the strong ties that unite both nations.
