Addis Ababa, October 13, 2025.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, was received today by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the historic and enduring ties between Africa and Cuba, cemented by shared values, friendship and solidarity. The talks reaffirmed the mutual commitment to continue strengthening relations between the African Union and Cuba.
President Mahmoud Ali Youssouf praised Cuba's continued support for the African continent, particularly in the areas of health and education and recognized the Caribbean nation's role in promoting well-being and human development in Africa.
For his part, Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla applauded the leadership of the African Union and its strong voice on the international stage, especially in promoting regional integration, infrastructure development and peace and stability across the continent.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation between Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean, including joint efforts through the African Union and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
Minister Rodríguez reiterated that Africa is a high priority in Cuba's foreign policy and reaffirmed his country's willingness to continue deepening ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation with the continent.
