Fidel Castro’s Legacy Highlighted at “Trinitica Vista Latina 2025” Event

Port of Spain, November 7th 2025. The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Trinidad and Tobago participated in the “Trinitica Vista Latina 2025” event, which brought together students and teachers from 12 schools across the country, along with various diplomatic representatives from the region.

The occasion served as a fitting tribute to the Historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, on the centenary of his birth. In this context, a photographic exhibition was presented, showcasing images of the Commander in Chief alongside Caribbean leaders — a testament to the historic bonds of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and the nations of the Caribbean.

During the gathering, Cuban diplomats Julio Cabada and Leydis Bernal discussed the challenges faced by the Cuban people as a result of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the Government of the United States, as well as Cuba’s unjust inclusion on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism, measures that directly hinder the island’s economic and social development.

They also highlighted the opportunities offered to Caribbean youth through Cuba’s Medical Scholarship Program, one of the most recognized initiatives of solidarity-based cooperation promoted by the Caribbean nation.

The event also featured the participation of the diplomatic representations of Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Panama, and Venezuela, who shared their historical and cultural heritage, consolidating this space as a true expression of Latin American unity and brotherhood.
