Havana, January 31, 2026 - Numerous organizations around the world have reaffirmed their firm support for Cuba in the defense of its national sovereignty and security, in the face of new measures and pressures from the United States government against the island, insisting that Cuba is not a threat to the United States, but a symbol of solidarity and anti-imperialist resistance.
The Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity, in a message to the people of Cuba, denounced as false and cynical President Donald Trump's accusations that the policies, practices, and actions of the Cuban government constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat. Furthermore, they emphasized in their message that the new measure represents a direct attack against all Cubans and their families abroad, regardless of their ideological orientation, political affiliation, social status, or age.
For its part, the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Labor (PCT) expressed its rejection of the new coercive measure, stating that it is “an act of international piracy and a deliberate attempt to suffocate, through hunger and lack of energy, a dignified people who have decided to be masters of their own destiny.” Similarly, from Guatemala, the Coordinating Committee for Solidarity with Cuba expressed its absolute and irrevocable condemnation of the recent executive order.
In El Salvador, numerous voices denounced the new imperialist onslaught. The Salvadoran Movement of Solidarity with Cuba emphasized that this measure aims to create disillusionment, dissatisfaction, and unrest among Cubans, with the objective of destroying the Revolution from within, echoing the directives of Under Secretary Lester Mallory's 1960 memorandum. Meanwhile, the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) and the joint statement from organizations belonging to El Salvador's social and popular movement rejected this criminal escalation of the US economic blockade against the island.
Similarly, Mexico echoed the sentiment of solidarity with Cuba in the face of new threats from U.S. imperialism. The Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, the Confederation of Workers and Unions of Mexico, the Coalition of Democratic Urban and Rural Organizations, the José Martí Association of Cuban Residents in Mexico, among other organizations, denounced the new decision as not an isolated incident, but rather a continuation of the economic war waged by the United States government against Cuba for over 60 years. In this regard, they reaffirmed their unwavering support for Cuba.
From Europe, organizations such as ARLAC, the Socialist and Democratic Group of the European Parliament, and the Cuban Ardor Association, among others, condemned the new US administration policy against Cuba. Likewise, in the United States, political figures such as Democratic Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, Democratic Representatives Rashida Tlaib and Chuy García, and organizations in solidarity with Cuba, such as the Communist Party USA, The People's Forum, and the peace movement CODEPINK, among others, rejected the measure, calling it inhumane, unjust, and contrary to international law.
Each statement conveys a common message: the real threat is not Cuba, but Washington's aggressive policy and, in particular, the Trump administration's agenda toward the island.
