Vienna, February 5 – The International Communist Trade Union Initiative (KOMintern) has issued a strong statement expressing its full support and solidarity with the Republic of Cuba and condemning the US government's continued threats and hostile policy toward the sovereign island.
In its statement, the Austrian international trade union organization, known for its commitment to workers' rights and global justice, denounces actions aimed at destabilizing Cuba, including the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade, a measure it describes as an “act of war” and the main cause of serious difficulties for the Cuban people.
The statement emphasizes that these unilateral policies of coercion, maintained successively by various US administrations, not only constitute a flagrant violation of international law, but also an attempt to undermine Cuba's sovereignty and right to self-determination. KOMintern rejects any interference in the internal affairs of the Caribbean country.
