Addis Ababa, February 16, 2026.- Prominent South African leader Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma conveyed a message of strong solidarity with the Cuban people, highlighting the deep historical ties of cooperation, friendship and mutual support that have united both nations for decades.
In conversations with the Cuban ambassadors to Ethiopia and the African Union, Meylin Suárez and Lucas Domingo Hernández, respectively, Dlamini-Zuma, who is in Addis Ababa for the 39th African Union Summit, noted that in times of greater challenges, solidarity among peoples must be strengthened and expressed more clearly.
He also reaffirmed that Cuba is not alone and enjoys the sincere friendship of Africa, recognizing the role played by the Caribbean nation in the struggles for freedom, justice, and development on the African continent.
Recognized as a prominent South African activist, Dlamini-Zuma has held important responsibilities throughout her career, including Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Africa and Chairperson of the African Union Commission, among other high-ranking positions of national and international importance.
