Vienna, February 23, — Young people from Austria and Croatia are part of the Rosa Luxemburg Solidarity Brigade, which is carrying out an extensive program of activities in Cuba from February 11 to 27, as part of the centenary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
The brigade is made up of 45 young people from various countries, including Germany, Spain, Italy, Turkey, the United States, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, France, and the Netherlands, among others, who, defying the blockade imposed by the United States, traveled to the island to learn about the Cuban reality and interact directly with its people.
During their stay in Cuba, the young people held a meeting with leaders of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), where they discussed the achievements and challenges of the Revolution in defending women's rights, as well as the impact of unilateral measures on the daily lives of Cuban women.
The initiative takes on special relevance in the context of the latest executive order by the US government, which exacerbates the economic and energy crisis facing the Caribbean country. This action strengthens the solidarity shown by Austria and Croatia towards Cuba, in rejection of the blockade and coercive measures affecting the Cuban people.
