The new diplomatic officials, Ambassador Yadirys Echenique Paz and Consul Ariel Pazos Ortiz, welcomed Dr. Malachy Dottin, coordinator of the Committee of Graduates in Cuba, at the Cuban Embassy in Grenada.

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere. During the exchange, Dr. Malachy Dottin recalled some of his experiences as a graduate in Cuba and emphasized the deep gratitude he feels toward the country that educated him during his university years. In his remarks, he expressed his desire to contribute to the well-being of the Caribbean nation and acknowledged the importance of cooperation among sister nations.

In particular, he stated that as a graduate of the Cuban higher education system, he remains committed to helping Cuba overcome the severe obstacles to development imposed by the U.S. government. His remarks reflected the personal commitment of those who, having been educated on the island, recognize the value of solidarity and resilience in the face of adversity.

Over the past few decades, Cuba has contributed to the university education of Grenadians. More than 300 local professionals, out of a population of approximately 117,000, have graduated from Cuban universities.
