The Cuban Ambassador in Monrovia, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, received a heartfelt letter from Dr. Arthur B.C. Wah, Executive Director of the Liberian chapter of the NGO CARE Humanity, expressing condolences for the heroic deaths in combat of the 32 Cubans in Venezuela.
Dr. Wah, national coordinator of this organization that assists Liberians affected by disasters, war survivors, climate-displaced persons, and those without access to the public health system, recalled the tragic days of the Ebola epidemic and the dedicated work of the 53 members of the medical brigade, whose efforts he witnessed and directly supported.
Dr. Wah expressed his heartfelt solidarity with the Cuban fighters and their families, and also conveyed the gratitude of the Liberian survivors of that epidemic, who witnessed the work of the Cuban internationalists.
“In these times, we Liberians have not forgotten the actions of the Cubans, and that is why we have come to express aloud our support and eternal gratitude…” Thus bids farewell our friend and Dr. Arthur at the Cuban Embassy.
