Cuban Ambassador Participates in Solidarity Event for Palestine in Amsterdam

Amsterdam, May 18, 2026. The Santo Domingo Church (Dominicuskerk), located in this Dutch city, hosted the commemoration of the 78th anniversary of Nakba Day (catastrophe in Arabic) on Friday, May 15, marking the day when hundreds of thousands of people were expelled from their cities, towns, and villages across most of historic Palestine.

The solemn event brought together prominent speakers, activists, and thinkers, and included musical and poetic performances that highlighted the culture, history, and life of a people who resist and defend their right to self-determination.

On the occasion, Ambassador Eva Yelina Silva Walker reiterated to her Palestinian counterpart, Ammar Hijazi, Cuba’s unwavering commitment to a truly free and independent Palestine. At the same time, she condemned the genocide that Israel, with the complicity of the U.S. government, continues to commit against the Palestinian people.
