The Lebanese Communist Party: Amid U.S. Threats Against Cuba and Its Socialist Revolution
The United States continues to intensify its hostile threats against Cuba, a revolutionary icon for the peoples of the world and an example of the historic struggle for liberation, progress, and the construction of socialism. These imperialist threats also coincide with aggressive wars waged by the Zionist entity with the participation and open support of the United States against the Palestinian, Lebanese, Iranian, and other peoples of the region.
These ongoing U.S. threats against Cuba constitute a direct violation of all international principles, laws, and norms, as well as ethical and human values. For 64 years, the Cuban people have remained the target of smear campaigns, conspiracies, and an economic, commercial, and financial blockade aimed at subjugating them and forcing them to abandon their national and social rights, as well as their revolution, their political leadership, and their great revolutionary symbols led by Raúl Castro.
This imperialist approach, based on aggression and war against Cuba and its people, constitutes an attack on the liberation movement of the peoples of Latin America and all global liberation movements that defend the achievements of the Cuban Revolution and its policies of solidarity, which aim to promote peace, stability, and mutual respect in relations between peoples and states.
We, in the Lebanese Communist Party, strongly condemn the threats directed against Cuba and the persistent U.S. siege against Comrade Raúl Castro. We express our full solidarity with Cuba, its government, and its people, as well as with the Cuban Communist Party led by Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel. We call upon all free peoples of the world to confront U.S. threats against Cuba and raise their voices in solidarity with the Cuban people, who have never hesitated to support all just causes and the struggles of the peoples of the world for respect for the principles of the United Nations, the rejection of U.S. interference in the affairs of states, and the right of peoples to determine their own destiny and freely and independently define their choices and their future.
