The Consul General of Cuba in Montreal, Yamari Pérez Viera, paid a working visit to Quebec, where she met with the highest authorities of the Canadian province. The Cuban diplomat greeted Premier Christine Fréchette on the occasion of Quebec’s National Day.
She also participated in a meeting of the Ibero-American Group of Consuls in Montreal, chaired by the Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, Christopher Skeete.
During her working visit, Pérez was received by Mathieu Parenteau, Director for the Indo-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, along with other officials at the headquarters of the Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie.
The meetings provided an opportunity to update counterparts on the current situation in Cuba, which has been further aggravated by the tightening of the United States blockade, and to review possible cooperation projects.
