The Cervantes Institute in Beirut and the Cuban Embassy Advocate for Strengthening Collaborative Ties

Ambassador Jorge P. León Cruz received the director of the Cervantes Institute in Beirut, José de Miguel, and extended a warm welcome to him at the embassy, where they held a cordial working meeting and exchanged views on current national and regional issues.

The director of the Institute expressed his gratitude for the comprehensive and detailed information provided by the Cuban diplomat regarding the intensification of the U.S. blockade and energy embargo against Cuba and its threats of military aggression, as well as the consequences and impact on the lives of the Cuban people.

The ambassador thanked him for the detailed explanations regarding the Institute’s activities and its efforts to promote the teaching, study, and use of the Spanish language in order to contribute to the dissemination of Hispanic cultures in Lebanon.

During the fruitful exchange, the possibilities for collaboration between the Institute and the Embassy were viewed positively, as was the full willingness to host programs organized by the Cuban diplomatic mission.
