Cuban Ambassador visits local radio and television station

Cuba's Ambassador to Liberia, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of Radio Krear (95.9 FM) and KCN TV.

While there, the Ambassador met with the station's staff and management, learning firsthand about the most popular and highly rated programs in Liberia and the surrounding counties. She also observed the local channel's production work and the audience reception for its diverse and entertaining programming.

The station's longevity, government support, low operating costs, and up-to-date news coverage make it a highly popular medium in Liberia; it also serves as a key channel for broadcasting local productions and sharing information on the distribution of supplies to rural areas.

During her visit, the Ambassador explained the situation regarding the blockade and the difficulties caused by energy restrictions, highlighting the impact on entertainment and the lives of young people and the general population. She also discussed potential exchanges between Cuban radio, television, and press outlets and their Liberian counterparts, noting the role media can play in bringing Cuba closer to Liberian youth.

The young journalists agreed to actively participate in Cuban initiatives and to maintain exchanges and contact with their Cuban counterparts.
