Communist Party of Canada reiterates solidarity with Cuba

July 31, 2026. Cuba’s ambassador to Canada, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, met with comrades Drew Garvie, leader of the Communist Party of Canada, and Adrien Welsh, leader of the Communist Party of Quebec.

During the meeting, they discussed the current international situation and the effects of the intensified U.S. blockade against Cuba, particularly the energy blockade measures.

Both communist leaders reiterated the solidarity and support of the Canadian people with Cuba, and in particular that of the Communist Party of Canada (CPC).

They also confirmed the CPC’s participation in the upcoming International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties to be held in Havana and in the International Colloquium marking the centennial of the birth of Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz.
