Toronto, September 5, 2026. The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Victor Manuel García Sánchez, participated in the celebration of Press Day organized by the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party of Canada. The event was held at the Party’s Workers’ Building in Etobicoke.
Six new books were launched, representing a valuable contribution to the theoretical work of the Marxist-Leninist Party.
García Sánchez delivered remarks acknowledging the support this political organization has provided to the Cuban Revolution.
The Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cubans Residing in Toronto participated as a special guest. Cuban Karel Cantelar spoke on behalf of the organization.
During his remarks, Cantelar read a letter addressed to Marxist-Leninist Party leader Anna Di Carlo, who was present at the event. The letter was sent by Doctor of Science Michel Valdés Sosa, National Director of Cuba’s Institute of Neurosciences. In the letter, Dr. Valdés expressed his gratitude to the Party for its contribution to the Institute through the donation of supplies.
The event reaffirmed the importance of the working class and its capacity to defend the social gains achieved. All the speakers expressed their solidarity with Cuba and called for an end to the hostile policy implemented by the United States government against the Cuban people.
