Assistant Minister for American Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates support of Liberia to Cuba in her struggle against the blockade.

The Director of American Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Mr. Sie-Teba Neuville, received at his office the Chargé d'Affairs of Cuba, Yordenis Despaigne Vera.

Among the various topics on which they exchanged, a vital issue was the deployment of a new global campaign of solidarity with Cuba in its struggle for the definitive lifting of the blockade. In this regard, the Cuban official said the recent press conference by the Minister Bruno Rodriguez on the subject and shared the position of the Cuban government. He reaffirmed that the US unilateral blockade to Cuba, remains the main obstacle to the full economic development of the Greater Antilles and the cause of the greatest shortcomings and limitations of the Cuban people.

Meanwhile the Liberian diplomat said his country, as a member of the African Union and the Economic Organization for Western Africa States (ECOWAS), will continue to be coherent and consistent with the ongoing support provided to Cuba in its struggle for lifting the blockade. To tell Mr. Sie-Teba, "while there is a bit of blockade, Cuba can count on the commitment of Liberia so as Liberia could count on Cuba in its most difficult times."

The blockade imposes challenges, creativity and firmness. But Cuba is not alone in her struggle. The world holds out his hand in a gesture of mutual solidarity, from the most extraordinary scenarios.
