Cuba's Chargé d'affaires, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, paid a courtesy visit to the African Union (AU) Chargé d'affaires in Monrovia, Mr. Prosper Nii Nortey Addo, who received it at the headquarters of the diplomatic mission of the African organization.
During the meeting, both representatives highlighted the historic ties of friendship, cooperation and solidarity between the island and Africa, especially thanks to the permanent will of the leader of the Cuban Revolution to strengthen ties with this region. Particularly noteworthy was Cuba's unconditional support for the causes of African peoples since the same revolutionary triumph, as well as resolutions adopted by the African Union condemning the unjust US blockade against the Cuban people.
They also discussed possible forms of collaboration between Cuba and the AU in Liberia in order to assist the efforts of the Liberian government in the country's recovery process, particularly in the sectors of health and education.
