With the presence of several heads of mission of the African Diplomatic Corps accredited in Monrovia, Liberian government officials, academics, members of the Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association and the Liberian press, was screened this Thursday the video "Fidel in Africa, Africa in Fidel". Mr. Dehpue Zuo, Deputy Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Integration, was representing the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of Liberia.
Prior to the screening of the audiovisual material, the Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, highlighted the feelings of gratitude, fraternity and mutual support that characterized the links of the Commander with the countries of the African continent. He highlighted the presence of Cuban combatants in the fight against discrimination and then the assistance provided by collaborators on health, education, agriculture and other sectors, to contribute to social development and the improvement of the quality of life of the African peoples.
The material, made by Cuban diplomatic officials in Liberia with background music by Silvio Rodríguez and composed of images of Fidel's visit to countries such as Guinea Conakry, Sierra Leone, South Africa, among others, was touching for those present. The visitors could also enjoy an exhibition with images of Fidel in his performance as a statesman and undisputed leader of the Cuban revolutionary process. (CubaMinrex/EmbaCuba Liberia).
