With the presence of the Ambassador of Cuba to Austria, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios and a wide audience of Austrian friends and the staff of the Embassy of Cuba in this country, it was celebrated the traditional commemoration of the Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution in the headquarters of ÖKG, the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association. This time the commemorative activity also coincided with the 59th anniversary of the entry of Fidel into Havana accompanied by the victory caravan.
The President of the organization, Jessica Müller made a summary of the work of the organization in year 2017 and she reaffirmed the commitment of the Austrian friends to continue supporting the Cuban Revolution. The ÖKG´s Vice-president, Hermann Pernerstorfer launched the last edition of “¡Cuba Sí!” magazine, a quarterly publication of this organization. This edition stressed the condemnation of the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
The Cuban Ambassador thanked ÖKG´s directors and members for their unwavering support to Cuba during almost half a century and highlighted the meaning of the commemoration, 59 years after the triumphal entry of Fidel and the Rebel Army into Havana. Furthermore, the Ambassador also referred to the challenges the Revolution is facing this year ahead and he ratified confidence that it will be victorious and strengthened.
