The Ambassador of Cuba in Austria, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios and the Federal Minister of Constitution, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice of Austria, Dr. Josef Moser, held a fraternal meeting at the headquarters of the Austrian Ministry, which ratified the will of both parties to maintain active ties in the legal sector.
The Cuban Ambassador conveyed to the Austrian Minister greetings from the Minister of Justice, Dr. María Esther Reus, and expressed the willingness of the Cuban party to offer continuity and renew the Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation among the Ministries of Justice, signed in Havana, in December 2015, between the then Federal Minister of Justice of Austria, Dr. Wolfgang Brandstetter and the Cuban Minister. He thanked Austria for its support to Cuba, in the process of perfecting and computerizing the Cuban registry systems, offered under the aforementioned Memorandum, during the year 2017.
The Ambassador also sent an invitation to Minister Moser to make a working visit to Cuba soon; and reiterated the interest of the Cuban authorities in receiving this year a delegation of experts from the Austrian Ministry, to continue the bilateral cooperation projects.
For his part, Minister Moser thanked the Cuban proposals and reciprocated the interest to renew the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding, which frames the exchange actions in the next two years. He conveyed congratulations to the Cuban counterparts for the recent election of the new leadership of the Council of State and Ministers.
